The two-vehicle crash happened on westbound Intersection 76 near Highway 85 in Adams County on Wednesday, at around 3 a.m.
The two vehicles were a 2020 Jeep and a 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier. According to Colorado State Patrol, reportedly the Jeep went off of the overpass, causing the crash.
One of the people involved suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, while a second person was pronounced dead at the scene.
I-76 remained closed for four hours while authorities worked at the scene.
This is an ongoing investigation.
