Bernie Macs Widow Files a Wrongful Death Claim
An Associated Press article posted at 9 NEWS, reports that "Bernie Mac's widow has filed a wrongful death lawsuit" against the comedian's longtime dermatologist. The comedian's widow, Rhonda McCullough, believes that the doctor failed to recognize "indications of respiratory failure" in Mac while at the dermatologist's clinic a few weeks before his death. McCullough alleges that the doctor kept Mac at the clinic for several hours instead of calling for an ambulance and emergency help after Mac began to show signs of respiratory trouble. Rene M. Earles, Mac's dermatologist, disputes McCullough's account of the events and says that when he found out from Mac's family doctor that Mac had been diagnosed with pneumonia he "immediately advised Mac to go to a hospital."
