Driver Crashed His Vehicle Into A Home In West Denver
An SUV driver crashed his vehicle into a home in west Denver just after 6:00 in the morning, according to CBS Denver. The driver said that he swerved to avoid a pedestrian who had walked out in front of his Dodge Durango, when he apparently lost control and drove through the wall of the home into the front room. Two people were inside the home at the time; fortunately neither was in the room at the time, and neither of them was hurt. The driver suffered unknown injuries, and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Insurance adjusters have not yet determined the extent or value of damage to the home.

While cars crashing into buildings are not nearly as common as other types of car accidents, they are incredibly dangerous. Obviously, a person sitting on the sofa watching television in his or her living room is not expecting a vehicle to come through the front wall, and the injuries suffered can be catastrophic. Additionally, the people inside the car can face terrible injuries in the crash. And it goes without saying that the damage to the building will be extremely costly to repair. While this is one of the reasons that insurance exists, in some cases, your insurance company may actually require you to file a legal claim against the person who caused the damage.

In many cases, car accidents, especially unusual and unexpected accidents where vehicles crash into buildings, result in serious injuries such as spinal cord injuries, serious broken bones, and traumatic brain injury. These injuries sometimes incur huge medical bills well into the future. Insurance companies sometimes balk at paying those future bills, claiming that they are not related to the original accident.
