Multiple Accidents on Highway 24 in Colorado Springs Last Friday
Highway 24 in Colorado Springs was completely shut down to traffic last Friday, due to multiple car accidents.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, one multi-car accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. between Cascade and Manitou Springs. No injuries were reported.
All told, this particular patch of Highway 24 saw 15 accident scenes that day, including one that involved an ambulance. Extremely icy conditions were responsible for the increase in accident numbers, with some witnesses describing the highway as a "skating rink".
The CSP requested for accidents that involved minor damage and didn't involve an injury, to be reported online. This stretch of Highway 24 was shut down to traffic for an extended period of time.
