According to the Century Council, 127 Coloradans were killed in drunk driving accidents in 2010. Of those 127 Coloradans, 18 of them were killed in crashes involving a drunk driver under the age of 21. Some people debate the validity of drunk driving statistics, arguing that someone with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08% isn't "really" drunk. One statistic put forth by the Century Council is that more then three quarters of drunk driving fatalities involved a driver with a BAC of 0.15%. This is just about double the legal limit. The good news here is that the number of drunk driving fatalities has trended significantly downward since the year 2000.
