A Centennial jury has awarded $1.2 million in the case of a 71-year-old woman who sustained a major hip fracture after falling from an unmarked ledge in an American Furniture Warehouse store.
The verdict was announced in Arapahoe District Court on March 18, 2016 after a five-day trial.

“I thank the jury for recognizing how this injury has limited my mobility and my ability to participate in and enjoy activities that were a major part of my lifestyle” Yokomichi said. “I also hope the verdict sends a message to American Furniture to improve store safety.
