Is Buzzed Driving Legal?
Many drivers in Denver get behind the wheel of a car because they do not believe that they are drunk. They believe that they are simply buzzed. However, for legal purposes, buzzed driving might be drunk driving. Even if your blood alcohol content is not above the legal limit, you can still face consequences for driving impaired. Even worse, buzzed driving impacts your ability to drive carefully, making you a danger to yourself and everyone around you.
Is Buzzed Driving Against the Law?
Driving while buzzed is not technically against the law in Colorado. However, if your blood alcohol content (BAC) is .05% or higher, you can be charged with driving under the influence (DUI). The legal limit for DUI in Colorado is .08%. So, if you are caught driving with a BAC of .05% or .06%, you will likely not be charged with DUI. However, you may still be subject to other penalties, such as a driver's license suspension.

When to Get an Attorney After a Pedestrian Accident in Denver
After a pedestrian accident, it is important to know when to get a personal injury attorney involved. In general, pedestrian accidents are more serious than other types of accidents. Injured pedestrians can face a lifetime of pain and suffering, as well as permanent disability. Even if you believe that you survived your accident relatively unscathed, you could find yourself dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder or emotional distress for years to come.
Pedestrians who got hit by a car must consider the full extent of the damages they suffered before they sign any type of settlement or agreement. To do this best, it is important to contact an experienced and skilled Denver pedestrian accident lawyer.
There are a few key things to look for that may indicate you need legal help:
- You were seriously injured and need help getting compensation for your medical bills, lost wages, and other damages
- The driver who hit you was uninsured or under-insured
- The driver who hit you was intoxicated or on drugs

How to Collect Evidence After a Drunk Driving Accident in Denver
If you were injured in a drunk driving accident in Denver, you may be wondering what your legal options are. Fortunately, the law is on your side. Driving drunk is a crime. It also means they're responsible for the accident and the damages they caused. While the police pursue a criminal case against the drunk driver, who is looking out for you and your best interests?
Fortunately, when you hire a personal injury lawyer, you will have a strong legal advocate in your corner who can pursue your rights to compensation. To do this, you may need to file a personal injury claim in civil court against the drunk driver. If the driver was convicted of drunk driving, that can be used as evidence in your case.
You may also be able to sue the bar or restaurant that served the driver alcohol. This is known as Colorado's dram shop laws. Bars are liable for accidents their drunk guests cause under certain circumstances. If they served them even though they knew or should have known that the person was already drunk, they can be held liable.

415 Fatalities in Memorial Day Holiday Weekend Accidents Estimated This Year
Memorial Day weekend is here, and many of us are looking forward to a long weekend of rest and relaxation. For millions of us in the United States, that means hitting the wide open road and getting out to see the country, something we can all appreciate after a long, stressful year spent in the middle of a pandemic.
According to American Automobile Association (AAA) estimates, more than 37 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more from their homes between May 27th through the 31st, representing a 60% increase over last year's numbers, which were stymied by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fact, last year saw the lowest number of Memorial Day weekend travelers since the AAA started tracking these numbers in 2000, and the 37 million expected this year is still about 13% less than the number of Memorial Day travelers in 2019. So while the country is still on the rebound, it's looking like things are slowly getting back to normal.
